SPL holds accreditation under BS EN ISO 14001, which is an international standard that specifies a process for controlling and improving a company’s environmental performance. Our environmental policy has been designed to enhance our commitment to continuous improvement and energy reduction plans.



Working with our partners to embrace R.E.A.C.H

REACH is a European Union regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals. It came into force on 1st June 2007 and replaced a number of European Directives and Regulations with a single system.

REACH applies to substances manufactured or imported into the EU in quantities of 1 tonne or more per year. Generally, it applies to all individual chemical substances on their own, in preparations or in articles (if the substance is intended to be released during normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use from an article).

Our Policy


SPL accepts responsibility for the harmful effects its operations have on both the local and global environment and is committed to reducing them.
SPL will measure its impact on the environment and set targets for ongoing improvement.
The Company will comply with all relevant environmental legislation.
The Company will implement a training program for its staff to raise awareness of environmental issues and enlist their support in improving the Company’s performance.
SPL will encourage the adoption of similar principles by its suppliers.
